Your honors project topic should be in an area in which you have some background or expertise. It does not need to be in your major. The project should provide you with an intellectual challenge above and beyond what a regular student would have. How and when to submit your project proposal. Project proposals must be submitted at least two semesters before you graduate. Late proposals will not.
What contributions have you made to the Iowa State and the Ames community (campus involvement, community work, athletic participation, etc.)? (Note: If you are an incoming freshman we understand that you may have limited Iowa State University involvement. You are welcome to focus on areas that you feel are strong community engagement.

We regret that Iowa State University must cancel all Spring 2020 University Commencement Ceremonies for undergraduates, graduate students, and veterinary medicine students. Campus leaders are working on plans for a live-streamed graduation address in May. Graduates will also have the opportunity to participate in a future commencement.

Students with high ability and clear educational objectives are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities offered by the university honors program. The University Honors Program emphasizes the development of individualized programs of study to meet the needs of students who have demonstrated the ability and maturity to assume more than the usual degree of responsibility for their education.
All students enrolled at Iowa State University, who have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above, and have more than 48 credit hours remaining until graduation, are eligible to apply to the University Honors Program (UHP). Once accepted to the program, students will automatically become a member of the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business Honors Program.
